Organic Honey Powder is natural, organic honey that has been spray dried into a fine powder. It is then blended with maltodextrin to keep the powder flowing freely. Organic Honey Powder is similar in texture to corn flour.
Honey is said to be a natural antiseptic as it absorbs the life-sustaining moisture out of bacterial cell walls. Organic Honey Powder is useful to include in healing salves and to use as a natural wound cover. Honey attracts the dirt from skin pores and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It, therefore, acts as a natural skin cleanser and softener.

Introduction
Himalayan Pink Salt is a pure, hand-mined salt that is derived from the foothills of the pristine Himalayan Mountains. Harvested from ancient sea salt deposits, it is believed to be the purest form of salt available. The high mineral crystals range in color from sheer white, varying shades of pink, to deep reds, the result of high mineral and iron content. The Himalayan Pink Salt offered by Mountain Rose Herbs is “Gourmet Food Grade”, the highest quality of Himalayan salt available.
Himalayan Pink Salt is used by holistic chefs, spas, health professionals, and individuals for its range of nutritional and therapeutic properties. Pink salt may be used in the same manner as table salt for culinary dishes and baking, but it is purer and higher in mineral content. Externally, pink salt can be used to stimulate circulation, relax the body, lower blood pressure, sooth sore muscles, and remove toxins from the body. Use Himalayan Pink Salt in bath salt recipes, body scrubs, aromatherapy, homemade soap, and for all types of culinary and spa applications.
Beneficial Properties
Himalayan Pink Salt has a rich mineral content that includes over 84 minerals and trace elements such as: calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. This salt is recognized for its beautiful pink color, high mineral content, and its therapeutic properties. Regular consumption of Himalayan Pink Salt provides essential minerals, trace elements, balances electrolytes, supports proper nutrient absorption, eliminates toxins, balances the body’s pH, normalizes blood pressure, and increases circulation and conductivity. It can also assist with relief from arthritis, skin rashes, psoriasis, herpes, and flu and fever symptoms.
History of Salt
Himalayan Pink Salt originally formed from marine fossil deposits over 250 million years ago during the Jurassic era. Harvested from ancient sea beds in the Himalayan foothills, this rare and extraordinary salt has been a valuable commodity for centuries. Historically, the Himalayan people used this salt to preserve their fish and meat throughout the year, and every spring they transported the salt to Nepalese valleys for trade. Heavily burdened yaks would carry the salt along narrow sloping paths, mountains, and cliffs in order to sell and exchange the salt for other commodities.
Himalayan Pink Salt is still extracted from mines by hand, according to long-standing tradition, and without the use of any mechanical devices or explosion techniques. After being hand-selected, the salt is then hand-crushed, hand-washed, and dried in the sun.
General Instructions
For culinary purposes, simply dissolve the salt into soups and hot dishes, or place the coarse salt crystals into a salt grinder and mill directly onto dishes.
Medicinally, Himalayan Salt is dissolved in water to create a brine, which is often referred to as “energized water”. This brine is used for a plethora of physical ailments including arthritis, rheumatism, osteoporosis, gout, kidney and gall bladder stones, skin diseases, psoriasis, and for toxin elimination. The proper way to consume the brine is in the morning on an empty stomach, taking one teaspoon of Himalayan Salt Brine with a glass of water. Wait 10 minutes before eating or drinking anything else.
Externally, a brine bath is recommended for detoxification, to strengthen the immune system, heal skin diseases, for rheumatism and joint diseases, to balance the skin’s pH, and for recovery after surgery. In order receive the full benefit of a therapeutic salt bath, it is recommended to use 1-2 pounds of salt per bath, and make sure that the water temperature is around 97 degrees Fahrenheit to mimic the body’s temperature. Soak for 20-30 minutes.
Facial steams are recommended for those with asthma, bronchitis, sinus infections, ear infections, and for all acute, chronic, and specific illnesses of the upper and lower respiratory tracts. Simply boil water, add salt to water, cover your head with a towel to create a “tent”, and inhale the vapors for 10-15 minutes.
Poultices made with the brine are used to treat open wounds, and pain from arthritis, gout and osteoporosis. Simply soak a cloth with body temperature brine, and apply the cloth to the treatment area. Wrap this poultice with a dry cloth.
Precautions:
Brine baths are demanding on the circulatory system, and those with weak or poor heart circulation should consult with a doctor beforehand. If a full bath would be too strenuous, then a foot bath may also be used.

Fall, a festive time of year
It's hard to believe that the fall of year is upon us and soon the beautiful colors of this season will decorate the landscape. Oh what a sweet time of year it is. The schools are having their home coming dances and celebrations, the harvest is taking place in the fields across the mid west and apple picking is on the agenda. Soon Halloween and the little tricksters will be out in their costumes collecting treats. As we start to settle into the darkness of this time of year we are reminded that we, like everything around us has it's time of rest. The leaves soon will begin to fall, with it comes and the preparation for the stillness of winter to take place. The time change to " fall back" will be on November 2, the first Sunday of the month. And of course we start planning for our Thanksgiving celebrations.
In light of all this slowing down, it's a very good time to think about meditation if you do not meditate on a daily basis, then maybe you could give it a try. This is a very good time of year, before the hustle and bustle of the holidays to enroll in a class or take the time to read about it. Meditation soothes the soul and relieves stress. It helps you to connect to your higher self and calm your nerves. The benefits of meditation are remarkable and a way for you to enjoy this slower time of the year, when you have time to find comfort and give thanks for all you have in your life, your life goes more smoothly.

Free Natural Recipe Glass and Surface Cleaner
Natural Glass and Surface Cleaner
Ingredients:
22 oz of water distilled water
.33 oz tea tree essential oil
.33 oz lemon essential oil
.33 oz lavender essential oil
2 oz grain alcohol 190 proof (DO NOT use isopropyl alcohol , better known as rubbing alcohol)
Directions:
Combine essential oils, distilled water and grain alcohol in a sanitized spray bottle, shake well, spray surface and wipe dry with clean towel. It's as simple as that. During use shake frequently as oils will settle.
If you would like to make sanitizing surface wipes, using a thick paper towel works best. Fold paper towels as if you were going to fold a letter and put it in an envelope, place folded paper towel in glass cake pan and saturate with sanitizing solution, (I usually make approximately 2 rolls of paper towels with the above mixture). Then place in a zip lock bag or recycled sanitized baby wipe container and use as need. Remember: clearly mark your container, so you won't mix up the baby wipes with your surface wipes.
Have fun with this one, it's so easy and a great money saver, as well as you know what's in them.

Natural Make Up And Affordable
Let's face it, cosmetics aren't cheap and we just don't want to give up our favorite lipstick. Ok, so women are make up junkies and I'm one of them. Being a make up junkie, it's been a struggle, it's taken me years, and a few eye infections to force myself to dispose of the old make up and find an alternative to those gooie patsy foundations and nasty chemical infested eye shadows.
The road to recovery has be an enlightening experience. First I had to admit I had a problem and then find a way to fix it. Thanks to mineral make up, I no longer have to worry about shelf life. And the bonus is it's a completely natural product. Mineral makeup has a natural spf and generally wears longer. With a little practice and experimentation it is easy to apply. You can easily get great coverage.
Here are a few guide lines for disposal of your makeup, it's hard to give up that perfect shade of lipstick, but keep in mind that it probably is contaminated and shouldn't be applied to your skin.
Mascara-3months
Powder eye shadow-2years
cream eye shadow-6 months
eyeliner pencil-3 months
sunscreen-6 months
skin care products-6months
liquid foundation-6 months
loose or pressed powder foundations-2 years
Lipstick or gloss-2 years
nail polish-2 years
When purchasing your cosmetics, remember they do expire, so try to buy in smaller quantities, to insure you will use them within these time lines. Think of all the money you will save by purchasing only what you will need.
For a great Mineral makeup click on the picture above, they have exceptional quality products at a reasonable price with fast shipping. You can purchase samples so the guess work is taken out of ordering your shade or color.

Free Recipe for Natural Gardener's Lotion Bar
PREPARATION: Start with a sanitized surface, sanitize any utensils you will be using, including containers you will be using, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Natural products need special care during preparation and storage as you are not using a broad spectrum preservative. Vitamin E works as a mild, but effective preservative, if product is handled properly.
Storage life approximately 6 months, when properly stored.
EQUIPMENT:
Weight scale which has ounces, I prefer digital
Glass microwave safe measuring cup
Meat or Candy Thermometer
7 - 1 oz containers, (small muffin pans, ice cube trays, heart shaped ice cube trays are really cute)
INGREDIENTS:
1 oz Avocado oil
1 oz Sweet Almond oil
1 oz Apricot Kernel oil
1 oz Refined or Unrefined Shea Butter
1 oz Cocoa Butter
1/2 oz Mango Butter
2 oz Beeswax
20 drops Vitamin E oil
*28 drops Tea Tree essential Oil
Combine oils (do not put vitamin E or essential oil in at this point), in microwave safe dish heat to 150 degrees, approximately 45 seconds depending on microwave.
Add your beeswax to oils and stir, place back in microwave and heat until beeswax is almost completely melted, stop the microwave about every 10 seconds, make sure you stir each time, you do not want to over heat your oils, they can start on fire and excessive heat can destroy oils natural properties .
Once your beeswax is completely melted remove from microwave, be careful container can be very hot, add your butters and stir for about a minute, making sure all oils have incorporated with one and another.
Allow to cool for about 5 minutes, add your essential oils and vitamin E, stir for about another minute, pour into your molds and allow to fully cool, pop them out of container and WAAAAALA you have a Lotion Bar.
Wrap them in air tight container, refrigerate, you will have enough to last you the entire summer and maybe give some away too.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS YOU BE THE JUDGE
Please read your labels.
The ingredients on the package are very important. Learn how to decipher ingredients and identify parabens and other non-NATURAL INGREDIENTS, so you can decide for yourself what products are truly NATURAL. Do your own research. I'm sure you have plenty of products laying around, have some fun and start entering the ingredients in your search engine and see what you find. Oh my, I think you'll be surprised. Here are a few websites you can look up ingredients on.
One of the most amazing things I found was, that, most commercial bar soap isn't soap, it's detergent and mostly synthetic, so all those years I was bathing in basically laundry detergent, of course until I started making natural soap.I have had plenty of arguments over the word NATURAL. And Springbrook Soap Co defines NATURAL as;(present in or produced by nature, not artificial or synthetic ). Again, do your own research.
Then make an informed decision for yourself. Tell others about your finding, some will, some won't agree, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was the synthetic market and it won't be changed in a day.Changing our commercialized market can start with just one person, you. It gets really exciting when you tell a friend and you realize you are helping the world align one vision of what NATURAL is, and hopefully living a healthier NATURAL life on a healthier Earth. Take the time for sharing your new found NATURAL life.http://www.organicconsumers.org/bodycare/toxic_cosmetics.cfm
http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-210.html
http://www.mbm.net.au/health/cosmetics/c.html
The next site you can enter an ingredient or product name and it will score it's hazard level. Check out your favorite baby products, it's shocking.
http://cosmeticdatabase.com/wordsearch.php?query=annusWatch for natural preservatives such as:
Grapefruit seed extract phenoxyethanol

Cleansing body polish
1/2 cup fine sea salt
1/4 cup sweet almond Oil, or other body oils(olive oil works fine) (Kukui Nut Oils is awesome for it's ability to absorb into the skin)

1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon essential of your choice (lavender is relaxing)
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix thoroughly. Store in small plastic jar that you can keep in the shower. This scrub acts as a cleanser, scrub and moisturizer all in one.
Directions for use: Apply to dry skin(otherwise the salt melts instead of scrubs). Rub and scrub anywhere you need to exfoliate and moisturize. I do this in the shower before turning on the water, of course this must be rinsed off. Have fun and enjoy the results.

Natural Health and Beauty
Recent studies have shown that we may actually acquire more toxins through skin absorption and inhalation than through the food that we eat. Our skin is the largest organ of our bodies and it's quick to absorb anything that touches it. When you rub chemicals on your skin, they can pass straight through and enter your bloodstream within minutes. If you are the type of person who consumes natural foods and avoids foods with preservatives, then you should also apply this practice to your body care routine. Our products are people, earth, animal and environment safe. Most products are 100% natural and we make them in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. We use vitamin E as a natural preservative and our products do not have mineral oil or petroleum, no harsh detergents, no drying alcohol, no formaldehydes or lanolin (highly allergenic) and are sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS)
& sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) free.
We are constantly researching and working on ingredients to deliver the greenest products possible. We continue to keep our pricing reasonable, with the average consumer in mind, you don't have to spend a fortune to get a quality natural product.

Why A Dragonfly????
Here's back ground of why the Dragonfly is on our label.
Yes, it goes back to those simple days, as a child, living in Wisconsin on the Namekegan River. I was about 10 years old, when I was laying on the old rickety dock by the river, with an old cast iron pot and some bread crumbs catching minnows so my sister and I could fish. We noticed a really ugly bug crawl up the post on the dock and just stick there, well the curious 2 we were, we sat and watched, we could see this thing emerging from the nasty looking bug, first a wing then another and out popped this absolutely beautiful green iridescent dragonfly, it sat there for awhile, as if it were telling us to look, I think at that moment, I received one of the greatest gifts from the universe, (a miracle?), that one dragonfly taught me to look for the beauty in everything. I've been told many times to stop "looking through my rose colored glasses". Well, I'm glad I wear those glasses, the world looks so beautiful. Everybody should have a pair.
About 3 years ago I met Wayne Dyer, one of my favorite authors, I explained the Dragonfly story to him and asked "what do you think it means", his reply was "oh, a miracle". I must admit I expected something more profound from him but, I get it now.
I toyed with the idea of a dragonfly on our labels for years, I recieved a phone call from a customer and she asked if I did natural Baby products, one of the Doctors in her practice were having a baby and she really wanted it to be special, I do a lot of custom labeling for my customers. My thoughts immediately went back to Wayne Dyer, a miracle, a baby, a dragon Fly. I enjoyed doing that basket above anything else I have ever done.
About a year after I did that basket, I found out the paper I used for my labels was no longer available, so the universe took care of the label dilemma for me. No doubt what it was going to be. The infamous Dragonfly. It's amazing how when you think you have something original and along comes someone, to take your ideas change them a bit and call it their own. A metamorphosis, in life I might add, lessons we learn from sharing our ideas with others, and making changes in our lives to accommodate a welcome from the universe.

Let's Talk About Body and Belly Butter
A good Body Butter should feel greasy when first applied, as it soaks into the layers of the skin your skin should feel soft and supple. I was confused over this when I first made Body Butter, I thought "Oh My God, this feels like I just bathed in cooking oil", well, I soon realized that I no longer had what I called winter itch, every winter for the prior 20 years I would scratch my legs and belly until they were raw. I know this sounds disgusting, but I know a lot of people with the same issue.
It took awhile but I experimented and came up with the perfect combination of Shea Butter and oils to eliminate the "winter itch". I soon realized that my Body Butter aided in healing rashes, relieved sun burn and was amazingly good for just about any skin issue, my grand daughter has extremely dry skin, it keeps her from scratching.
Have you seen the movie "My Greek Wedding", there is a part in that movie where the Greek father is using Windex for ever ailment one can think of, think of me running around with a jar of Body Butter, hey I've even waxed my wood furniture and counter tops with Body Butter, works great and smells good too, it is my pride and joy.
We add no preservatives or coloring to our Body Butter, we use essential oils unless we have requests for fragrances that can't be achieved with essential oils. Every batch is fresh when it leaves to insure it's quality, I recommend it be refrigerated, but this is not necessary if it is stored below 75 degrees.
Belly Butter is one the most amazing natural products we produce. I have two daughters that have been pregnant, my side of the family's bellies look like a raod map to china after having children. OK, so we dont have that skin that stretches and goes back after we had our children. I didn't come up with this recipe until my girls had their second child, I can tell you that they did not get any extra stretch marks with their second pregnancy. I have handed out Belly Butter to all of their pregnant friends and they too, had few to no stretch marks. I'm so proud that we were able to reduce or prevent the unsightly problem of stretch marks in many pregnant women.
We make Belly Butter with essential oil and no preservatives, using some of the finest butters and oils available on the market today. Kokum Butter is one of the finest butters known to mankind and is rich in essential fatty acids, which aid in cell oxygenation and make nutrients more readily available for use by skin tissues. Kokum Butter also contains antioxidant vitamin E. It is a non-comodegenic (non pore-clogging) material that aids quick absorption. It helps regenerate tired and worn skin cells and supports skin elasticity and general flexibility of the skin wall. It has been used traditionally in India to soften skin and restore elasticity and as a balm for dry, cracked, rough and calloused skin. It is also beneficial for the treatment of many different conditions, such as:
Helps regenerate skin cells .
Kukui Nut Oil has been used for many years in Hawaii , and has only recently become known to the rest of the world. It is prized for its rejuvenating and soothing effects upon the skin, without leaving a greasy or oily film. Pressed from the seeds of the Aleurites moluccana tree, this oil is invaluable for many different skin conditions, providing moisture and nourishment to skin.
The HistoryThe Kukui Nut tree was first brought to Hawaii by early Polynesian settlers. It quickly adapted, and is now Hawaii 's official state tree. Kukui means ‘enlightenment' in Hawaiian. Traditionally, babies in Hawaii were anointed with Kukui Nut Oil to protect their skin from the sun, salt, and other elements. In addition, it was used on skin irritations, wounds, and burns. Kukui Nut Oil was also used to massage members of royalty, who were sometimes massaged for seven or more hours with this oil! I'd say any pregnant woman should be treat like royalty.
Kukui Nut Oil is a fabulous moisturizer, and quickly penetrates the skin leaving a silky-smooth non-greasy feeling. It is often used for dry or damaged skin, immediately relieving symptoms because of its quick absorption into the skin. It can leave even the roughest and driest skin feeling smooth, soft, and hydrated. Kukui Nut Oil contains Vitamins A, C, and E, providing anti-oxidants that help to protect the skin. This unique oil is able to penetrate into the deepest skin layers, while creating a protective shield that locks in moisture. It is great for those with sensitive skin, and is a wonderful ingredient in bodycare products. Specifically, it is beneficial for the following conditions:

My Life at it's finest!
I now live in Illinois and have for several years, but my heart and sole is still, sitting next to the Namekagan River. I work very hard to be environmently aware. I believe as a world we should respect and treasure our earth. Attempt to live as green as possible.I can remember, in second grade, the Department of Natural Resources, visited our school with a eco van, the displays included toilet paper that had been colored and an explaination of what inpact it had on the environment, to this day I will not purchase colored toilet paper.Well, with that little bit of information, my life was impacted, and 40 some years later, I make natural skin care products, natural household cleaners, natural candles, natural soap (not the melt and pour) the real stuff, the kind that is made from scratch. What more can I tell you, I love nature, it's gifts and want to see it perserved.
